A Thrift Store With A Heart

Sam’s Attic is a thrift store that offers a wide range of donated second-hand items. An all-volunteer staff runs this non-profit (503c3) thrift store whose proceeds support the Masaka school kids and teachers in Uganda, Africa, and the local shopping community.

The store morphed from an annual parking lot sale, which had increasing donations and raised increasing amounts of money each year. There were often many fantastic left-over items with no way to store them until the following year. Finally, the thrift store opened in Sellwood. It was very popular with that community, but the lease ended when their building was sold. So, in 2019, the store found a new location in Beaverton.
